Electric Bass Lessons

Electric Bass lessons by Jon Steinmeier include technique, reading, style study,

ear training, improvisation, and ensemble playing.

Playing with the drummer (groove study) is a crucial element, and is included in lessons as

metronome practice as well as playing with a live drummer.

Theory and part choices are rooted in chordal analysis, voice leading, and key study,

allowing the player to use scales and chords to compliment the composition and

the other players in the ensemble.

Style study includes walking, basic groove playing, and slap funk technique.

Also, we will learn songs from recordings for ear training and part analysis.

All lessons by Jon Steinmeier are geared toward the students specific goals,

and are taught at the student's pace.
